CAS Family Picnic

On Saturday May 19th, we had our semi-annual family day with our adoption agency. I LOVE these events, Scott tolerates them! He does have a good time, he just doesn't know as many people as I know, so he chases the boys while I socialize and catch up with my adoptive mommy friends. It was held at Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury for the 3rd year in a row, and it is a GREAT park. I also make it my mission to take as many pictures of families as I can...they are all posted on Facebook.
Family Photo!

Smiley Sophie! This was her outfit change after I let her diaper go too long.....bad mommy!

Silas being the great big brother and pushing Sophie through the park. We were headed to the paddle boats, but I was too afraid to take the camera on the boat, and I forgot to tell Scott to take a picture of me and the boys on the lake.

We always take a picture here!

This is the only ride I got to see them on, they did all of the activities while I was talking back at the shelter. They got to ride the train, go to the reptile house, go gem mining, and play putt-putt before I was able to catch up with them.

Me and Sophie, Marisa and Anna Carson, Cheryl and Lucy! I LOVE these ladies, but we only get to visit at these events because they live more than 3 hours away, so praise the Lord for Facebook!

This is Stephen's new pose for pictures I guess?

This is right after we reunited and headed out again!

This just about sums up our last adoption wait.....She was definitely worth the wait....and she IS the caboose on the Dobbins family train! Silas asked me one day, "Mom, are we done adopting kids?"....Yes, son, we are!!

Sophie's Dedication

On Sunday May 6th, we had Sophie's dedication at our church, Lee Park. In our Baptist faith, we have a small ceremony in front of the church where our Pastor presents us to the church congregation and holds us accountable to raise our baby in the training and instruction of the Lord. It is our obligation as parents to make sure that we live out our faith in Jesus in front of our children. Each one of them will have the opportunity to accept Jesus as their Savior when they reach an age where they have a clear understanding of Jesus' sacrifice for their sins. Silas has already made the decision to follow Christ, and was baptized last March at age 8.

Sophie is One Month Old!!

Sophie Joy, you are 1 month old!

9 lbs 5.5oz    22 1/4 inches
You are eating 4 oz of formula every 3 hours, 24/7!! You love your Boppy Pillow and do a lot of snoozing in it in the recliner in the living room. We know this won't last long, you'll be wanting to wiggle and roll soon, but we are enjoying it while it lasts.

In honor of Daddy, who LOVES Disney World and can't wait to have the "Princess" experience!!!

You are starting to smile more and more, but stay pretty serious most of the time. You've been trying to talk some to us, making the cutest little cooing noises when we talk to you and you make eye contact with us!

I just LOVE your hair after a bath!!

Your new best buddy, Rabbit....we haven't officially named it yet...

Stephen sings "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to you when he thinks you are fussy and need it!

Silas continues to be a wonderful helper and holder....it's like you have 3 parents!!
