Spring is coming!! Love these warm days...

Silas rode the bus home from school with his friend Carissa. They have been friends since birth. When Brenda laid Silas across her 6 month pregnant belly, Carissa started kicking furiously. We should have known then that they would be fast friends! Now that Carissa has a brother through adoption, I think that she will be a great and understanding friend to Silas as he grows and processes his adoption story through the different stages of his life. As adoptive parents we must try to provide our children with facts that surround their placements but also to surround them with support from other adoptive families. I am thankful that we have come to know many such families over the years and it has been very beneficial to share our stories and life lessons learned about how best to handle situations, both in the present and for the future.

That being said, the kids had a great time playing together!! When we got there to pick Silas up, Stephen readily jumped into the fun! As you can see, Garrison slept in Chris' arms and missed the whole thing! It won't be long though, and he'll be right in the midst of it all. Babies grow way too fast!

We're still alive!!

Barely. After much sickness (mainly me) and snow and overall life busyness, I have not posted in a long time. I had the WORST sinus infection ever, and was miserable for 3 weeks. I just now feel normal (that's relative) again. We finished Upward basketball and are looking forward to spring break and a trip to the beach in April. Stephen is still having his speech "play therapy" every week and is saying a lot of new words. He is putting some words together, but not as many as expected for his age. He is still addicted to Nick Jr online games and begs to watch Dora the Explorer all day, every day. Silas is trudging through 1st grade and always seems to be slightly behind. It may be beneficial to him to repeat 1st grade so he can catch up, he is one of the youngest in his class being a June baby. We'll see how that turns out, we're praying for discernment on what will be best for him, his teacher has not suggested it yet and the year is coming to a close. So, nothing much new, just staying busy with everyday life and two VERY active boys!
