We love you Puddin' Cakes!!

Very suspicious of the camera coming out...
Letting momma feed (especially since we just cleaned the carpet yesterday)
A Satisfied Customer

We are in the countdown to Dad going back to school....18 days and dwindling. He may be looking forward to it after a summer in the house with 2 VERY active boys, but Mommy will miss the freedom of getting only herself dressed and a straight 6 mile drive to work, with no drop offs in between. Even though Stephen is still not talking much, he has NO trouble conveying what he wants. He goes to the pantry and forages around until he finds what he wants. His current favorite is Chocolate pudding--he even brings a spoon to us so we can feed him immediately! Here's his latest pudding consumption...
He also said "Cheese" when we got out the camera...shocking to hear a word pop out like that!!

Carowinds Slideshow

Carowinds Fun with the Downs Family!

We had a Great time with Scott and Judith and the kids at Carowinds on Friday the 25th! It was a last minute thing, as Judith and I were SUPPOSED to be helping one another clean carpet on Friday. We had MUCH more fun at Carowinds than if we had cleaned carpet!

A Fun Visit!

We met with Nikole and Barbara (Stephen's birthmom and grandma, for those of you who don't know!) at the mall and for dinner. Nikole just got a new car so the boys posed with her for a picture! I forgot to give credit where credit is due: an earlier post I did about "chill-laxing" around the house--Silas picked that up from Nikole!! So Nikole, there you go! Hope you're still having fun riding the roads! Work for that gas girl!

A Fun Day at Carowinds!!

Silas has a new favorite ride--"Runaway Reptar". He was a big boy and rode it by himself twice. It was not at all crowded, so we had a really good day. We spent the first part of our afternoon at the waterpark in Kookabura Bay (wading area) and then at Bondi Beach (wave pool with HUGE waves). We dried off, changed clothes, then hit the rides. Stephen entertained himself with the water fountain (can you believe they have one just his size?!) while Scott and Silas rode the Goldrusher 3 times in a row. Stephen also enjoyed sipping on the "family" drink (we're cheap, we just bought one). As we were leaving we had an encounter with the one who is "absorbent and yellow and porous is he". It was overcast most of the day but somehow two of us got too much sun--I'm not sure whose face was glowing the most at the end of the day, Silas' or Dad's!!!

Chill-Laxing Around the House!

That's the term Silas would use for the preceding activities around the house. In case you're not up on current lingo, it's a combination of chillin' out and relaxing. The newest TV craze is "Phineas and Ferb". Stephen gets really excited and starts dancing when the intro starts!
He also loves to watch Silas AND Daddy play the Nintendo DS.

Speech Assessment

Well, we had our first appointment today to find out if Stephen is delayed in speech. It was a "get to know Stephen and his habits" type thing. The caseworker will come back next Wednesday with the person who will do the actual assessing. That's when we'll know if they want to proceed with anything. "Play" therapy, which is casual and *Free*or "Speech" therapy, which is $75 an hour! Guess which one we're praying (fervently) for???!!!
We'll keep you posted!

Tractor Show Denton NC July 2

Tractors, Tractors, and MORE
Tractors!! Silas said he thought there were about 100 tractors....we say maybe a thousand! He and Lucas had so much fun playing in the dirt, but man did they stir up the dust!

We left Stephen
with MaMaw to spare him the heat!

!

Silas had a ball seeing all the different kinds of tractors, engines, and steam vehicles. We visisted with Uncle Tommy (Sonya's brother) and friends Kent, Juanita, Lucas & Hannah. They all stay for the whole week at the campground.

Can you find Silas in this picture? >>

Summer Haircuts!!

I took the boys to get their hair cut

and told the ladies to get it as short as they could!!
